Description:
Peter Paul Rubens genoot gedurende de hele achttiende eeuw een grote reputatie in Groot-Brittannië, en prenten naar zijn werk werden in grote aantallen uitgegeven. McArdells mezzotint van Rubens' familie was de eerste van twee dergelijke prenten die in Londen werden gepubliceerd naar hetzelfde onderwerp; de andere was van Charles Phillips. Rubens, zijn vrouw Helena en een van hun zonen verschijnen in een geïdealiseerde versie van de tuin van zijn huis in Antwerpen.
