- Deze plaat is in werkelijkheid een heliogravure Evely naar een tekening van Félicien Rops. De prent diende als frontispice voor de roman van Joséphin Péladan : Le vice suprême. Het illustreert het thema van het epos opgesteld door deze schrijver: het einde van de Latijnse rassen (Finis Latinorum).
