Description:
Deze triptiek is afkomstig uit de Gentse Baudeloabdij. De Antwerpse schilder Jacob de Backer creëert hem in opdracht van de abt van de abdij, Jacob del Rio. Hij is afgebeeld op het rechterluik samen met zijn patroonheilige. De Backer geeft op het centrale paneel, waarschijnlijk mee op aansturen van Del Rio, het verhaal over de miraculeuze genezing van de Joodse koning Hizkia weer. Iconografisch vormt het drieluik een interessant geheel: de calvarie op het linkerluik, het oudtestamentische verhaal op het middenpaneel en de opwekking van Lazarus in grisaille op de achterzijde van de luiken verwijzen allemaal naar de verlossing uit de dood.
