- Henri Van Straten was één van de oprichters van de vereniging Lumière. Hij behoort tot de zogenoemde bekende Vijf (samen met Frans Masereel, Jan-Frans Cantré, Jozef Cantré en Joris Minne) die samen de houtsnijkunst in Vlaanderen vernieuwden na WOI. In deze uitgave verzorgde Van Straten zes linosneden gebaseerd op The Sleeper van E.A. Poe (1831).
